Valid plans

Local master plans

The Town of Raahe area currently has 18 valid local master plans approved after the year 2000. Of these, seven component master plans in total guide mainly residential construction or functions in built-up areas. The remaining 11 master plans have been prepared to guide the design and construction of major projects.

Major projects require the preparation of a local master plan for which the planning area is subjected to the necessary surveys and that analyses the impact of the project on the inspected area. For energy production needs, Raahe has prepared the component master plan of the Hanhikivi nuclear power plant area in cooperation with the municipality of Pyhäjoki to guide land use. In addition, eight component master plans for wind power parks guide the construction of wind power stations. Land use planning in the gold mine area is guided by the local master plan. In addition, the construction of the smelting plant, which is included in the major projects, is guided by the local master plan.

Local detailed plans

Valid local detailed plans have been prepared based on the local master plan. They specify the objectives of the local master plan for practical implementation. Based on the local detailed plan, it is possible to apply for a building permit for construction in accordance with the plan.
