Crown Granary

The Crown Granary is the newest museum within the scope of the Raahe Museum, opened to the public on 21 October 2012.
The Crown Granary houses storage, exhibition and office spaces as well as an archive of the Raahe Museum. The museum presents excerpts from the history of Raahe from prehistoric times to the present day. The exhibits that are now open allow you to, for example, dive into Raahe’s prehistory with a miniature model of a Stone Age village, explore medieval life in the area and hear about the town’s early stages as told by the first mayor of Raahe, Henrik Corte. The exhibition also relives a terrible incident, i.e. the fire of Raahe in 1810. The most famous artefact in the museum’s collections, the world’s oldest surviving diving suit the “Old Gentleman”, is now displayed in the diving section of the Crown Granary.
Associations and private individuals can rent the Crown Granary’s conference rooms in the evenings.
